the boss

just emerged from the dust bowl of burning man. it was a pretty unique experience. the last day was my favorite. not because of the big burn, but because the playa turned into a giant dust bowl. you could stare directly at the sun and it looked like a slightly bright moon. my shitty point and shoot couldn't capture it...

off to venice on wednesday. but i wanted to just share with you all the other music news i talked about in the past post. bruce springsteen wrote a beautiful original song for the closing the film. called THE WRESTLER it is a wonderful acoustic piece. makes me choke up every time i hear it. he really captured the spirit of the film and mickey's character in the piece.

I was in attendance (the guy who trying to get the "pi is awesome" chant going) at the Dover shows. If they're any indication of how great this movie will be, I'm very excited. Keep up the great news Darren; Bruce is the best.

WOW! Bruce is my favorite and I love your films, good mix. Venice is being quite irregular according to the press here in Spain. Hope this helps the last minute entry of "The Wrestler" gets some help with it. Wishing to see this film in Spain. Hope it hits the theaters soon. And hoping to hear Bruce's song: now the Magic tour is over it will help with the abstinence syndrome.

I was on set during the last days of filming in March, in Dover. I was fortunate enough to be in the front row! I had an amazing time meeting and talking with alot of the actors and the many people who worked on the set, Mickeys body double, Ernest the Cat, hair & make-up people, sound people, camera people...and I can't forget hangin' out with Mickey Rourke himself inbetween scenes and matches! I learned so much from everyone in regards to how a movie is filmed, what goes on behind the scenes and so much more. Everyone on set was extremly helpful, down to earth and way cool. I loved the theatre and it's yesteryear feel and vibe. I'm way excited to see this movie! Though for a few weeks I couldn't get that Guns N Roses song outta my head..lol. I just wanted to say Thank You to you and the crew for such a fabulous experience. My best to you! Heather (www.uniquelyrourke.com)

Looking forward to The Boss being part of the film. 3 Reviews have popped up online, all very positive. I had my doubts about this project )I mean, a wrestling pic? Haven't you seen Barton Fink???), but I am now officially interested.

We have all been reading great things about the film from a ton of different reviewers. We are all excited and congratulate you on Venice.

Spanish press, who's not always very friendly with your films has surrendered to "The Wrestler" as I see in the morning papers (they say you're one of their favorites to win). Congratulations and good luck with the awards this weekend. I'm everyday a little more eager to see this one.

I have no idea if you actually read these, but just wanted to say congratulations on the Wrestler. It's Lauren Miller (that would be Rothman to you). We (me, my parents, Emily, a few others) have been following you since Pi and are always excited to see your accomplishments. I wish you much success when the film hits the U.S. and can't wait to see it!
