we wrapped the wrestler about five hours ago. appropriately we were in phillie at the former ecw arena shooting a few inserts for mickey's war against the necrobutcher. if you've never heard of necro make sure you do a youtube search for him. he is a true superstar in the indie wrestling world.
well now, cutting begins. we got a lot of footage and a little amount of time. but i think we have the film in the can.
i will keep you updated after i take a much needed sleep.
best...

Congratulations. Good luck with the cut.
Congrats on the wrap Darren! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us this time.
can't wait for it! is clint mansell composing?
Thanks for the inspirational post Darren. I'm so impatient to see your new moving picture! Your "fountain" is a fabulous inspiration to me. The more i see it,the more i love it.
Definitely in my top 5 movies!
Jordan.
It was great to see you directing in Dover, PA. We drove 2 hours to the event and it was worth every minute. Your speech tamed the wild crowd and allowed for an amazing scene.
My friend and I got the chance to talk to some of your crew and left his work (4th D movie)with one of them hoping it will get passed to you. It's often compared to your Pi and that's of course because your films are a source of inspiration. We just wanted to have the thought that you might get a chance to see it.
Looking forward to seeing The Wrestler...
Thanks for the Fountain for it has truly reawakened the artist that I pushed aside...
Mazel Tov, Darren!
it's great that you're on-line again :) waiting for next movies
is clint mansell composing?
he doesn't really fit to kinda movie but maybe yes :)
How do you know he doesn't fit? He's a pretty diverse composer.
safelight should be a tv mini series. the most important part of the soundtrack is the part when frank walks out of the hospital room and out of the hospital when emily dies.
Wow, I can't wait to see the final result... maybe in Venice this year?? It should be cool... you deserve a better treatment than the one you received (wrongly) for The Fountain!!!
I will be there for applaud ;)!!!
In the meanwhile, good luck with the editing... but first relax!! You surely deserve it... I know well...there is nothing better than when you finish the filming and you have all the material in your hands :D!!
Oh, and Happy Easter!!!

congrats!!waiting for the wrestler!!
I say that in the future you get the crew of Stay (for the cinematography) and create an adaption of Danielewski's House of Leaves.
Just a thought.
can't wait for it. :D
I was looking for a link to your publicist. Instead, I found this blog. I am wondering how the story for THE WRESTLER came about; I am the grandson of former pro wrestler, Ken "small man" Lucas, and, to be honest, from what I've read about the film this is a a very close mimic of his life. As well, strangely enough, for years I've been describing my grandfather as looking just like Mickey Rourke. Any further dialogue would be much appreciated.
